A new juice joint opened up in our neighborhood and their almond smoothie is amazing and the inspiration behind my version. It’s dairy free, really healthy, and tastes like dessert for breakfast minus the guilt and the stomach ache.
Almond Banana Flaxseed Smoothie
serves 2 in tall glasses, or 3 in smaller glasses
2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/4 cup almond butter*
2 frozen ripe bananas [I break each banana into pieces, wrap in freezer-safe foil, and freeze overnight]
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons honey or desired sweetness
Blend and enjoy.
*Tip: Use an ice cream scoop [this is my favorite] to prevent almond butter from sticking to spoon.
